Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 8, 2026
This privacy policy describes how the Hora Calculator for Google Flights Chrome extension handles user data.
Summary
This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server. All user preferences are stored locally on your device.
Data We Access
- Flight departure times: The extension reads departure times displayed on Google Flights pages to calculate the ruling planetary hora. This data is processed locally and never transmitted.
- Airport location coordinates: The extension uses a built-in database of airport coordinates to determine sunrise times for hora calculations. No GPS or device location is accessed.
External Services
- sunrise-sunset.org API: The extension sends airport latitude and longitude coordinates to the sunrise-sunset.org API to retrieve sunrise and sunset times. No personal information is included in these requests.
Data Stored Locally
The extension uses Chrome's local storage to save your preferences:
- Home airport code (e.g., JFK, LAX)
- Travel buffer time setting
- Hora weight balance setting
This data never leaves your browser and can be cleared by removing the extension.
Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Personal information (name, email, etc.)
- Browsing history
- Flight bookings or travel plans
- Analytics or usage tracking data
- Cookies or advertising identifiers
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service used is the sunrise-sunset.org API, which receives only geographic coordinates of airports (not user locations). See their privacy policy at sunrise-sunset.org.
